April 6, 2012, In One Week the Newest K9s on the Harris County Sheriffs K9 Unit have made a difference.

Deputy Kerrigan and Bailey captured 1 armed burglary suspect. The use of Bailey in the apprehension kept his partner Deputy Kerrigan from being involved in a deadly force situation. The suspect had already fired upon officers, but when apprehended by the canine the suspect surrendered his weapon. 

Deputy Brown and K9 Bret captured 1 burglary suspect and seized $1,500.00 with 17 Grams of Marijuana.

Deputy Bullock and K9 Tommy captured 1 robbery suspect.

Deputy Denham and K9 Sjors seized 1339 Lbs of Marijuana.

Deputy Thomas andK9 Jack seized $56,231.00, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 40 Lbs of Marijuana, 601 Marijuana Plants from a grow house. K9 Sjors locatred .5 Kilograms of Cocaine along with a weapon which was determiend to be a murder weapon. 

April 5, 2012 - One year ago today K9sCOPs Inc. Awarded 4 K9s to the Harris County Sheriff's K9 Unit. The following is some of the work in just one year.

K-9 Boomer has seized $550,197.00, Cocaine 13.46 Kilograms, Marijuana 3816.50 Lbs, Methamphetamihne 5 Kilograms. Has captured 5 misdemeanor and 1 felony suspect. 

K-9 Fozzie has seized $8, 601.00, Cocaine 1 Kilogram, Marijuana 2987.67 Lbs, Ecstasy 4 Grams, Has captured 6 felony suspects.

May 12, 2011 — the Canine Division responded to an aggravated robbery (car jacking) in Crosby, Texas. During the response Deputy Kowis unit 40K19 spotted the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. At the end of the vehicle pursuit the suspects fled. K-9 deputy "Elmo" was deployed and all four subjects were arrested and taken into custody

June 2, 2011 — the Canine Division responded and assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in response to a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit entered Harris County where the suspects crashed out on a street in Huffman, Texas. Two K-9 units 40K16 Deputy B. Curtis along with K9 Deputy "Andor" and 40K17 Deputy L. Graves responded. K-9 deputy "Andor" was deployed, suspect was located approximately 400 yards west of the scene in a wooded area. Suspect taken into custody.

On 06-08-2011 — Harris County Sheriff's Office units responded to a burglary in progress call located on Mesa Rd near Mt Houston Rd. Dispatch requested a K-9. Unit 40S19 Sgt. Cruzan, Unit 40K18 Deputy J. Walker, and Unit 40K10 Deputy R. Hoyt responded. Upon arrival two Hispanic males armed with a .22 caliber rifle refused to exit the residence. After an entry was made by our tactical units, no suspects were found inside house. A check of the skirting by Deputy Walker and k-9 deputy "Bosco" revealed the suspects had dropped through the floor to the underside of the residence. Depty Hoyt and K-9 deputy "Ducke" were deployed to the west side of the residence where one of the suspects was attempting to escape. K-9 Ducke apprehended the suspect. After locating the second suspect under the residence, both suspects arrested.

Big dogs for the big guns: The fledgling K9s4Cops non-profit barks up $500,000

K9s4COPs Inc. Raises a Record Amount of $500,000.00 in one night !  K9s4COPs Inc. held it's first fundraiser on October 27, at the home of Founder and Board Chair Kristi Schiller and husband John Schiller.  The event was well attend by corporate sponsors and community supporters who had the opportunity to meet many of Harris County K9 team members and hear about the work they do every day in our community.

This foundation is part of the "The Giving Back Fund" and will be used to benefit the Canine Unit of the Harris County Sheriff's office, Houston, Texas. "K9s4COPs is thrilled to be recognized and receive this Grant that will make a difference in our community," Kristi Schiller K9s410 COPs Board President and Founder.
