Be a Fundraiser for K9s4COPs!

Are you a business, charitable group or individual that wants to raise some money for K9s4COPs so we can grant a K9 to one of the agencies on our waitlist?

OR

Are you one of our agencies on our K9 grant waitlist and you want to help fundraise for your K9s4COPs K9 grant?

Here are some ideas to join us as a fundraiser for K9s4COPs!

Help fundraise for a dog for your agency or one of our applicants.
We set up a virtual fundraising page and donation link for you to share. We can personalize it–adding photos and a message about why you are hosting this fundraising campaign for K9s4COPs and what that K9 can do for the community. You then get the information out to your community and ask them to help contribute towards the cost of the K9. One incentive to offer a big donor of your campaign (or a few donors!) is the chance to name and meet the K9. All donations go directly to K9s4COPs and are 100% tax deductible, and money is saved in a restricted funds campaign that K9s4COPs will use to purchase your K9/training. Please note that K9s4COPs will pay the K9 vendors/trainers directly. No cash grants or reimbursements will be made. If you go over your goal or decide to suspend the campaign before your goal is met– any funds raised will go to the K9s4COPs general fund.

Set up a virtual fundraiser for K9s4COPs via Facebook fundraisers and share with your family and friends and ask them to contribute to your fundraiser.  This is a great idea to consider for birthdays or celebrations in lieu of gifts. If you need assistance on how to do this, please let us know.

Plan your own K9s4COPs special event such as a fun run, bowling competition, golf tournament or anything you can dream up and present a check to K9s4COPs after event. We can even send a K9 and their handler to your event for a meet and greet!

IDEAS FOR SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISERS

  • Challenge your friends or employees to compete and see who can bring in the most amount of money.

  • Challenge another nearby law enforcement agency, fire department or school police department.

  • Tell your potential donors why having a K9 is so important and how it benefits the entire community.

  • Use your agency’s social media or public relations department to get the word out about your fundraiser.

  • Utilize short videos to personalize your campaign and give updates.

  • Hold a K9 naming contest that allows the top donor to name a K9 should you reach a goal of at least $15,000 (see sponsor page for more benefits for this level of donation).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT and HAPPY FUNDRAISING!

"Not only are our handlers more equipped to do their job safely and more efficient, but our children's schools and our streets are safer."

- Deputy Clayton Marshall, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

"Having been a K9 handler for ten years, I know firsthand that there is no greater 'tool' that can be utilized in the line of duty. A life saving device that not only becomes our partner, but our best friend, that would give their lives to preserve ours. There is no stronger bond...and for that, I am extremely thankful."

- Deputy James Glaze, Harris County Sheriff’s Office

“If it were not for K9s4COPs, I would not be where I am today in my K-9 career. The impact that K9s4COPs has on the community cannot be measured. Thank you so much K9s4COPs for everything you have done for me and my fellow brothers in blue. My family thanks for you providing the best and bringing me home safe at night."

- Dep. Kenny Taylor, Harris County Sheriff Office

“People do not understand we would not have a career law enforcement without these 4-legged partners. Thank you K9s4COPs for allowing me such a valuable tool to complete my work each and every day. The bad guys are not grateful, but on behalf of me and my family we certainly are!”

- Deputy Larry Graves, Harris County Sheriff's Office
